Hair-metal champions Whitesnake, whose roots stretch back to the early days of hard rock (frontman David Coverdale started the group after a stint in Deep Purple), will forever be remembered for their deathless smash "Here I Go Again." The band's latest, The Purple Album, contains new versions of Deep Purple songs from when Coverdale sang in the group.
