Time Out says
The contemporary Virginia band Wild Nothing is a dead ringer for British bands of past decades, proudly shoegazing. Many songs on the band's album, Gemini, would fit nicely on the soundtrack of a John Hughes movie. Formed at a Chino, CA, high school, Abe Vigoda began performing at the Smell, following the lead of that renowned club’s poster boys, No Age, by playing lean, angular rock. Last year's Crush, however, opened things up to dance music—a wise move. Setting the stage is Captured Tracks signee Minks, which just released its solid debut, By the Hedge.
