Tens of thousands of Czech Jews passed through the Bohemian concentration camp of Terezín during the Holocaust, including hundreds of musicians, artists and writers. The 92nd Street Y's highly anticipated new multidisciplinary series celebrates the creative accomplishments of these people—many of whom perished. In the first three concerts, baritone Wolfgang Holzmair and the world-class Nash Ensemble perform songs and chamber pieces by lost talents such as Hans Krása, Viktor Ullmann, Pavel Haas and Ilse Weber, as well as Smetana and Janacek, whose music could be heard within the camp's walls.
