Y La Bamba + Chris Pureka

Earthy singer-songwriter Chris Pureka performs with an earnest intensity that's reminiscent of Amy Ray; her soft melodies and mellow vocals almost seem better suited to a campfire gathering than a club. Tonight she opens for Y La Bamba, an excellent psych-folk outfit fronted by Mexican-American songstress Luz Elena Mendoza—fans of Devendra Banhart will dig her deliciously ramshackle sound.
