Young Widows started out in the mid-aughts mining early-’90s post-hardcore, but more recently, the Louisville, KY, crew has spiced up its sound with streamlined, Queens of the Stone Age–esque rock and dirgey psychedelia. Here the band supports a 2014 LP, the rumbling yet seductive Easy Pain. Sharing the bill are Shannon Wright—an Atlanta singer-songwriter whose work touches on both brooding balladry and brusing noise rock—and pummeling local duo the Austerity Program.
