Yuck

Just when British noise-pop group Yuck was preening itself to cash in on some serious buzz last fall, it was forced to withdraw from October’s CMJ Music Marathon. Oh, the bummer: Cameron Cook, editor of local music magazine ’Sup, even swore off the festival because of Yuck’s cancellation. More happily, the band delivered an onslaught of MP3s to the Web, like the droning anthem “Rubber,” a seven-minute track soaked in magnificently squelching squall, and announced its debut full-length for February release.
