A new Trader Joe’s opens in Soho today

Another Trader Joe’s, the king of reasonably priced grocery stores, joins the Manhattan party today, and it’s located in one of the most popular neighborhoods for shopping: Soho (233 Spring Street). According to Eater, the new outpost has 30 checkout lanes (we reckon there will still be a line out the door on most days) and sells beer. Bad news for vino lovers: There’s no wine. But don’t weep, Trader Joe’s Wine Shop at Union Square is only a 15-minute subway ride away.

This is the second Trader Joe’s to open in New York this month (the Upper West Side shop debuted on May 4.) According to the brand’s website, there aren’t any other outposts scheduled to open in New York this year. Until then, Soho residents, we hope you enjoy your convenient access to TJ delicacies like Cookie Butter and Mandarin Orange Chicken. And remember to be kind to your fellow shoppers! For some reason, shopping at Trader Joe's (particularly during the post-work rush hour) can bring out the worst in people. Happy shopping!
