If you've ever wanted to watch the world go by from the window of a train whether on a romantic getaway or weekend adventure, Amtrak is giving you an excuse to do it.

From now until Sunday, January 12, the nationwide rail service is offering a deal where you can buy one ticket and get one free if you sit together in coach, share a bedroom or a roomette. Plus, with the exception of the Silver Star line, meals are included in the price of your ticket.

From New York's Penn Station to Charleston, South Carolina, buy-one-get-one-free, one-way tickets range from $138 to $372 depending on your accommodation. From New York City to Chicago, tickets are $112 to $383.

In order to take advantage of the deal, you’ll need to ride between February 1 and June 12. There are a few blackout dates for the half-off tix: around Easter on April 10 and 13 and around Memorial Day on May 22–25.

For more information, and applicable routes from Penn Station, head over to Amtrak’s offer page and book through that.

The only downside of this deal? You won't be able to avoid the Penn Station Scramble.
