The Knicks are on fire—and if shelling out $800-plus for a nosebleed seat at Madison Square Garden isn’t in your playoff budget, fear not: there’s a free, hype-filled way to catch the action live (and legally) with your fellow New Yorkers.
This Saturday, May 10, Knicks Plaza at Plaza33 (that’s 33rd Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues) will transform into the ultimate orange-and-blue fan zone for Round 2, Game 3 of the Knicks vs. Celtics showdown. The Knicks are heading into the matchup up 2–0, thanks to two insane comeback wins in Boston—so if there was ever a time to believe, it’s now.
The “All New York Block Party” kicks off at 1:30pm Eastern Time, giving fans a solid pre-game window to enjoy DJ sets, giveaways, meet-and-greets with Knicks alumni (names are still under wraps), photo ops and general sidewalk madness. Game time is 3pm, broadcast live on massive outdoor screens, so you won’t miss a second—even if the standing-room-only seats inside MSG are going for nearly a grand each, per PIX 11, and courtside chairs are pushing $42,000.

The block party is free and open to the public, with no RSVP, wristband or VIP list needed. Just bring your Knicks gear and some stamina (and maybe also a portable charger). Fans can BYO food and non-alcoholic drinks or grab bites from nearby restaurants, though booze is a no-go on-site.
If you missed the Game 5 party last round, this is your chance to catch lightning twice. The energy’s electric, the crowd’s rowdy in all the right ways and if the Knicks keep it up, you might just witness a historic playoff run surrounded by diehards who really get it.
Don’t sleep on this one; it might be the most fun you’ll have watching a basketball game in a concrete canyon.
