Wondering how to track your ballot in NYC this year?
With around 340,000 mail-in ballots submitted in NYC for the 2020 presidential election, the NYC Board of Elections launched a tracking program to help ensure they're are collected and counted.
And while it could take weeks to count them all, there's an easy way to see if your absentee ballot has been accepted. All you need to enter into the online ballot tracker is a confirmation code and a last name or simply your voter information (name, birth date, zip code, etc.)

The only catch is the system updates every 24 hours. Some are even reporting it's taking days to update, according to The City.
While it's not exactly a guarantee that your ballot will be counted, it should help keep an eye on things, which we'll take—almost 100,000 NYC voters were sent invalid absentee ballots with wrong names or addresses in September, The New York Times reported.
Absentee applications had to be postmarked by October 27. Ballots postmarked on or before Election Day and received within seven days after Election Day (that's November 10.) should be counted. Ballots received on November 4 (the day after Election Day) without a postmark must also be counted.
And if you dropped off your ballot at your local Board of Elections office and slipped it into a red, white and blue box, you should still be able to check its status.
