NYC airports are in total meltdown mode. Here’s what it looks like on the ground

Flights grounded, terminals jammed and TSA lines spiraling—NYC travel has had a few very bad days.

If you’re flying anywhere near New York today, buckle up: this is not a normal travel day. 

A fatal overnight crash has shut down LaGuardia until at least mid-afternoon, a surprise evacuation at Newark triggered a ground stop and across the region, delays are stacking fast. 

Add in already stretched TSA staffing (with weekend lines stretching into hours) and you’ve got a perfect storm of airport chaos. Here’s what it actually looks like across LaGuardia, Newark and JFK right now:
