You can run, you can hide but you’ll probably be doing both while sneezing this winter.

The state’s Health Department announced today that influenza is officially present in the state. Not only does that mean that everyone over six months old should get a flu shot ASAP, but also that healthcare workers that haven’t had a shot have to now wear masks around patients.

There have been 1,820 lab-confirmed cases of influenza in the state so far this year (including all five boroughs of NYC) and 612 of those have required hospitalization.

So get your flu shots, peeps! Time is running out and there’s not enough Emergen-C for all of us.
