The Miami-born restaurant that quickly became one of New York’s buzziest Mediterranean spots is already expanding. Motek—known for viral-worthy spreads, sunny interiors and comfort-food Israeli and Mediterranean dishes—is opening a second NYC location in Greenwich Village in early April. The new restaurant will land at 184 Bleecker Street, on the corner of Bleecker and MacDougal, following the success of Motek’s first New York outpost in Flatiron, which debuted in September 2025.

If you’ve scrolled through Instagram lately, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen Motek’s towering pita breads, glossy mezze spreads and golden schnitzel plates circulating through your feed. But while the restaurant’s look certainly leans influencer-friendly, it’s the food that has turned the Miami favorite into a full-blown hit.

Founded by restaurateur Charlie Levy, Motek built a devoted following across South Florida with locations in neighborhoods including Brickell, South Beach and Coral Gables. Levy spent two decades living in New York before moving to Miami, and bringing the concept north was something fans had been asking for years.

The Greenwich Village location will carry over the dishes that made the brand popular: fluffy housemade laffa, shawarma, crispy schnitzel and colorful mezze spreads like labneh dusted with za’atar and hummus topped with caramelized onions. Hot, glistening pita, usually football-sized and straight from the oven, remains a signature.

Brunch is also expected to be a major draw, with dishes like flaky malawich flatbread and vegetable-flecked latkes designed for long, lingering weekend meals.

Design-wise, the new space leans into Motek’s signature Mediterranean café aesthetic. Guests will enter through a bright yellow-tiled bar, then move through arched walkways that divide the dining rooms. Hand-woven umbrella light fixtures, marble tabletops and white banquettes make for a breezy and relaxed atmosphere.

Large windowed doors along the corner storefront will open fully during warmer months, turning the restaurant into an airy indoor-outdoor space. The new restaurant will seat about 120 guests inside, with an additional 50 seats on an outdoor patio, making it one of the larger dining spaces in the immediate Bleecker Street area. Motek will also bring one of its crowd-pleasing perks to the neighborhood: a daily $5 happy hour, alongside all-day dining that runs from brunch through dinner.

With Williamsburg and the Upper West Side reportedly among future New York expansion targets, the Village location suggests Motek’s New York chapter is only just getting started.
