The Bunker LTD

Born in 2003, after the Polar Bear Club ended its three-year run, this party series eventually became the progenitor of this city’s entire underground techno scene. Italian DJ Marco Shuttle, known for deep and trippy grooves, mans the decks for this edition.

Actress (DJ Set)

Under the musical alias Actress, U.K. producer Darren Cunningham creates beautifully crafted soundscapes that flow effortlessly despite their detailed patterns. Check out 2018's Lageos, a sublime collaboration with the London Contemporary Orchestra, for a taste of his scorched-earth version of dance music, much of which has been released on venerable label Ninja Tune as well as his own Werkdiscs. This particular gig features the producer behind the deejay decks, showcasing his unpredictable and creative selection.

Papi Valentine

Brooklyn-based dance party Papi Juice pulls together techno, jersey club, hip-hop beats and more to soundtrack its celebration of queer and trans people of color. This Valentine's edition features artistic polymath Julianna Huxtable, whose adventurous sets traipse unhesitantly across genre lines, and DJ Haram, whose productions are as likely to feature hardcore synths as darbuka samples.

Umfang

Public Records, Gowanus

The Discwoman co-founder and lead spinner behind recurring club-night Technofeminism heads up a night in Gowanus. Unafraid of traversing genre boundaries, Umfang's DJ sets often jump from deep house to experimental techno to drum & bass and jungle.

Levon Vincent

Levon Vincent

Basement, Queens

This brilliant producer of deeper-than-deep underground dance music is best known for a couple things: firstly, for helming the exploratory Novel Sound label (Novel is "Levon" backwards—get it?) and secondly, for cooking up one of the most celebrated mixes (number 63) in the foundational Fabric series from the eponymous London nightclub. Expect nothing less than mixing precision and top-notch curation.
