The look is high-end hotel: well-buffed wood paneling, plush carpets, and banquettes and tables widely placed for discreet deal-making. Genteel couples, families and business travelers fill the space, and the waitstaff is friendly and expert. Too bad the execution of the steakhouse menu staples lacked both soul and seasoning. A fat crab cake, smothered in lemon mayo, was spongy outside, mushy within; undercooked potato dumplings floated in zipless chicken broth. Boneless sirloin was well seared and juicy, but the accompanying french fries were thin and leathery.
