Daniel Reta and his wife, Frehiwot, cook the food of their native Ethiopia at this 18-seat eatery, decorated with green-washed walls and photos of the old country. Herbivores can opt for the veggie combo (an assortment of stewed lentils, string beans, collard greens and cabbage), while meat lovers can chow down on chicken doro wat (a red-pepper paste curry) or kitifo (beef tartare kicked up with hot peppers).

Excelent place for enjoy good live music and good food. The servers are amazing and very nice


This is one of the larger spaces with a more modest environment.  Waitstaff was pleasant and prices one of the lowest in Manhattan (not usually found with this food). Try the vegetarian combo to get a delicious and filling sampling of Ethiopia. 


I absolutely love this restaurant! You can tell and taste the love in the cooking. I try to go here once a week and I am highly satisfied as a vegetarian!
