Light, coastal eats (roasted eggplant with Taleggio flatbread, grilled poussin with pickled baby carrots) dominate the menu of this Mediterranean spot from Orhan Cakir (Pierre Loti, Turks and Frogs).

When I went here for restaurant week, I was a little weirded out that the space was relatively quiet for a weekday evening.  Fortunately - the food was some of the most decadent I've had in NYC, and the space filled up very quickly - I'm glad that people know about this place!  The restaurant week menu was great - I loved the artichoke salad and my salmon was cooked perfectly.  I still keep daydreaming about the caramel olive oil cake that I got for dessert!!  The dimly lit interior is perfect for a date night or a dinner with a small group - so consider this place the next time you need a night out.
