Whether they’re filled with juicy strands of Venezuelan-style shredded beef or with Guyanese cheese, sweet plantains and avocado, the stuffed corn pastries at this cheery, no-frills eatery make for a satisfying meal all on their own. Try the simple cheddar version, which doesn’t push limited palates too far from the grilled-cheese comfort zone, and wash it down with tamarind juice, brown-sugar lemonade or chicha, a cinnamon-rice drink.

One of the best restaurants in Astoria, their sangria is amazing and I love the atmosphere.

If you are going to the Museum of the Moving Image, make this place a stop along the way either before or after your visit.

Perfect for a quick bite, you would probably walk past this "restaurant" if someone didn't tell you to go in. Luckily, someone did tell me to go in and I was extremely happy I did, so now I can tell you to do the same.

I split 4 arepas with my date and everything was on point. I would go as far as to say they're better than Caracas, and cheaper. You will be leaving full. It's not a fancy place by any means, but it's great nonetheless.
