Banking on New York's novelty-food craze (see cronuts and ramen burgers), this takeout shop specializes in filled, bite-size bagel balls, known as "bantams." The 15-bagel menu ranges from deli classics (an everything bagel bite is filled with lox, tomato and red-onion cream cheese) to more whimsical varieties: the cheddar-egg Hangover is stuffed with bacon-cheddar cream cheese, while the Slice features pepperoni, Murray's Cheese mozzarella and marinara from John's Pizza.

This spot has several different varieties of bagel balls. My favorite is the Grandma Jojo's, which has pesto, tomato, and cheese. These little bites are a burst of flavor in a small bagel. A NYC must try! Another bonus is that the store is located in the hip West Village!

As a Long Island native, home of the World's best bagels, I was a little hesitant to try "bagel balls" but I was pleasantly surprised. These ball shaped bagels don't require schmear because they are complete with a cream cheese filled center.  They had so many flavors to try and at a $1.50 each it's easy to try a bunch in one visit.  Highly recommend the Birthday Cake, it's my favorite.

As seen on Shark Tank! These are little bagel balls essentially that have various flavors and stuffings. Get 6 bantams for $7 and its such a fun little snack. I've tried the Bleeker Street (pizza style), the french toast, the hangover, the birthday cake one -- tons of flavors. Definitely go in the morning when it's less crowded and has more of the flavors available. No seating in there so also not ideal for sitting in there for your quick bite but really fun place!
