A burger joint grows in Brooklyn—with ten locations in Manhattan and the outer boroughs, the organic patty-pushing chain expands into Cobble Hill. Grab a stool at the reclaimed steel counter for combo favorites like the Big Blue Bacon (Wisconsin blue, fried onions and bacon marmalade); the Habanero Express (pepper-jack, poblano pepper, habanero-chipotle mayo); and the California (sharp cheddar, Hass avocado, salsa verde). Each burger comes with your choice of protein (grass-fed beef, buttermilk-fried chicken, ostrich) and bread (brioche, wheat-flour wrap, tapioca rice bun). Round out your meal with sides like butter pickle chips and house-made Carolina slaw, an all-natural shake (peanut butter, raspberry) or a local brew (Sixpoint, Ommegang).

Great relaxed pit stop for the family. Kids menu and crayons to keep the little monsters happy. Weird and wonderful hearty burgers for the bigger kids (elk, bison, duck etc). Grindhouse works for me!

Disclaimer: I actually visited their Upper West Side location (795 Columbus Ave). The burgers were great! Super unconventional. I ordered the Fire Quacker (hah.) which was a duck burger with pepper jack, habanero mayo, pickled jalapenos, red onions, spinach, and tomato on a brioche bun. Duck can be a strong flavor, but I really enjoyed this step out of my comfort zone! Also ordered the black tea raspberry iced tea and a side of sweet potato fries. (Come hungry.) The burger was delicious and the service was very attentive. It’s not your standard American comfort food, but I really enjoyed the twist on traditional!
