This restaurant’s flexitarian menu takes care of vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters in a gorgeous space that features a wall of live foliage, among other green touches. Unctuous dishes (buttery lasagnette, oysters gratin) get as much play as virtuous ones (a vegan b’steeya made with squash, chickpeas, and dried fruit). Even tempeh and tofu make appearances, if only to satisfy the Birkenstock crowd. But the chef has struck a balance: There’s plenty for diners weary of yet another Zen Palate meal. And for the rest of us there’s familiar food with real flavor and even calories and fat.
