Cafe Pedlar

The two Franks behind Frankies 457 Spuntino are on a roll: Soon after opening the doors to the bar section of their restaurant Prime Meats, they unveiled this café—a partnership with Stumptown Coffee—serving espresso drinks and homemade German and Austrian desserts, including a linzer torte from a family recipe.

For those who like their coffee strong and dark and can stomach the high-acidity of Stumptown, this is the place for you.  Brought to you by the people behind Frankie's, this place does a ton of business and is a local favorite.

The photographs paired with this listing are NOT Cafe Pedlar in Cobble Hill.  I have no idea where they are from but the one in Cobble Hill is more spacious, although still very cramped due to the high volume of foot traffic.  With limited seating and a noisy environment it isn't the best place to set up a laptop and work but the outside benches offer a great spot for sipping and people-watching.

Coffee is only $2 bucks and if you bring your own cup they take .25 cents off the price.

A charming café in Boerum Hill that serves Stumptown coffee. The cortado was very good, smooth and nutty with milk at just the right temperature. I’ve also sampled the hot chocolate and it was spot on with the perfect balance between cocoa, sugar and milk. The interior feels like you could be sitting in a charming cafe off the Champs de Lise with large windows and marble tables. However, seating is limited and it does feel like there is a lot of empty space which detracts from the overall ambience. Nevertheless, a nice spot for a coffee and a chat.
