This casual Sunset Park dinette run by a husband-and-wife team serves breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. For the morning meal, start with a La Colombe espresso ($2.25) along with lemon-ricotta crepes ($7), huevos rancheros ($10) or a pesto focaccia topped with mozzarella and two sunny-side up eggs ($14). Not a fan of brunch? Try something savory from the lunch menu, like the croque monsieur ($10) or Zona Sur burger with gruyere, caramelized onions and roasted tomato on a brioche bun ($14). The dinner options include larger portions like a seafood linguini with mussels, cockles and the catch of the day ($16), pan-seared salmon with kale ($17) or cavatappi mac and cheese ($16). Thirsty? Order a glass of red or white sangria ($7 for a glass, $25 for a liter), or one of the assorted wines and beers. Cafe Zona Sur even offers a few sweet options for dessert fiends, like a chocolate souffle ($7), apple bread pudding ($6) and tiramisu ($6).
For years, they worked in all kinds of restaurants, 4-stars, 2 stars, no stars, brunch, lunch, dinner from Manhattan to Los Angeles making and serving delicious food. The couple even met at a restaurant in the West Village.
They wanted Café Zona Sur to represent their journey with food. The menu is fresh, simple and local. It’s New American and indicative of the kitchens they’ve worked in for 20 years and cultures that have traveled here to the Great NYC and helped revolutionize the comfort meal.
At Café Zona Sur, the espresso is just as important as the wine and the beer and the menu is filled with dishes that represent Maria and Jose's experience throughout the kitchens of NYC.
Excited to be in Brooklyn, they also support local bakers, artisans and serve local, natural whenever possible; as well as Fair Trade Espresso Coffee and Teas.
This is their first venture in their neighborhood of Sunset Park and look forward to many more.

The food is different, delicious, fresh, made from scratch homemade soups, salads and I have never been disappointed expect when their fryer broke and couldn't have their delicious herb fries lol.
Best place in this area of Sunset Park for quality food you wont find anywhere near the neighborhood
