Time Out says

Rich, meaty cassoulet—a dish so cherished that its recipe is the source of age-old controversy in its native France—is the star of this three-day affair at East Village brew den Jimmy’s No. 43. The event kicks off Saturday afternoon with a new Cassoulet Salon panel series (each $10) headlined by the likes of cookbook author Cathy Erway (The Art of Eating In) and charcuterie master Kate Hill of Kitchen at Camont in Gascony, France. The latter also helps judge the eighth annual Cassoulet Cookoff on Sunday ($30), during which you can sample more than 10 creations from competing chefs, including food stylist Mira Evnine and Emilie “the Butcher” Frohlich. Round out the gut-busting weekend with a prix-fixe Cocktails and Cassoulet dinner ($45), which includes three paired cassoulet dishes by chef-caterer Annette Tomei.
