Charrúa is devoted to serving the staples of Uruguayan homemade food. We strive to recreate the local, natural, and farm-to-table concepts that we grew up with by using produce from local farmers, and products and services from local and family-owned businesses.
The main staples of our cuisine are churrasco (steak), chivitos (sandwiches), empanadas, sausages, pastas and salads.

Finding in Manhattan a place where they make Uruguayan chivitos was incredible and delicious.

I recommend it 100%.

The food, the atmosphere, the price and the attention were super

Loved the place and the food is to die for! Also the people who work there is very friendly. It's a must if you are around the neighborhood. Also check out the instagram page to see the promos and special nights with soccer games. I will definitely come back for a "chivito" (steak) sandwich.

I recommend the classic chivito "Canadiense", and also the veggie is very good. You can not forget the empanadas with a good Uruguayan tannat wine.

I have been to Charrua many times because I live in the neighborhood. I love it. I love the decor, the atmosphere and the people who work there. Everybody is friendly! The food is simple and delicious. My favorites are the chivito sandwiches. I love the Canadiense (steak) and the Cheto (veggie). And the fries are to die for!!! My friends also love the empanadas. They make a great sangria as well and usually have a 2-for-1 promo for sangria and beer! You have to try this place!
