This mellow neighborhood café has more to offer than a Gossip Girl trivia connection and free Wi-Fi for its laptop-toting clientele. The organic loose-leaf teas and adorable afternoon tea service—a three-tiered spread of sandwiches, scones and pastries designed for two—is worth the trip alone.

Communitea says
Communitea has been serving Long Island City the largest selection of loose-leaf teas, nutritious comfort foods, big salads and home-made baked goods since 2005. Not only do we offer a great cuppa tea but Irving Farm Coffee, locally brewed beers, and a selection of fine wines and cider.

This is the venue we found when my husband and I just started dating -- it's a lovely part of our family history❤️ The people who work there are so friendly and interesting to talk to. And, of course, THE FOOD AT COMMUNITEA... It's absolutely phenomenal - delicious and fresh, carrying great energy✨🙏🏼✨ Thank you!

Nice big space to work, friendly staff, fast wifi, tasty food & tea, and now they serve alcohol. I wish they stayed open later, but it's still a great place to visit during the day.

Love the food, lots of healthy options. And the owners are wonderful, they give it that small neighborhood vibe!
