This grimy little café has street cred to spare: Taxi drivers pack the place for cheap, filling chow. Lunch dishes, like a spicy chicken curry, are placed in the steam table at 11am, but at dinnertime the food is cooked to order. The vegetarian options are best: We like the aromatic lentils, tomato-packed turnip curry and navratan, a sweet vegetable curry. Hard-to-find Indian sodas, like Thums Up cola, enhance the authenticity quotient.
