During the Museum of Modern Art’s three-year Queens relocation, its curators and fund-raisers lingered over lunch at Dazies, enjoying the big-pour bartenders and retro Continental-restaurant vibe—valet parking, penguin-jacketed waiters, cliché-tinkling pianist. Those discerning MoMA art smarties dug Dazies’s good, traditional food too. Homemade pastas are satisfyingly sauced, with peppery zuppa di pesce a must for seafood lovers. Meat and chicken are tender and come in rich wine reductions. Of course, tiramisu is an excellent finish, along with potent grappa. Try the berry tart, though, for a tangy and scrumptious change.
