First of all, let's get one thing out of the way - I LOVE Steak. I don't claim to be a steak connoisseur, but my dad does raise cattle for a living so i'm pretty well versed.

As for NYC Steakhouses, i am partial to Peter Lugers - it's my fave place in the world and i try to go once or twice a year. Recently, a couple of friends and I decide to start trying some other steakhouses and see how each compare to the next, so we made a reservation at Destafano's.

Some takeaways:

 - The place looks, straight up, like a diner. I am ALL for casual (believe me, i almost go to work in PJs) and i love the rustic look of Luger's, for example, but this one just felt odd. I felt like i was in the middle of a diner somewhere random in Florida

- The service was good, super attentive and everyone was sweet

- for a $35 corkage fee for the table, you can BYOB. That's pretty major since it allows you to save some $$$.

- The sides were yummy, especially the spaguetti with seafood that the waitress recommended (ok tha'ts not a side, but it's small and u can totally eat it to accompany your steak)

- The steak was just OK. I had the porterhouse for 2, and it was just alright.

SO...tons of pros, and definitely worth one visit. But at the end of the day, if i got to a Steakhouse, I go for the steak. With Peter Luger's so close, i just don't think I'll be coming back to this one.
