The place feels strangely suburban (perhaps it’s the location in an incongruous little strip mall in the shadow of NYU), but the food is a reliable slice of old Italia, served by congenial waiters. If it’s available, start with the stuffed-pepper appetizer—one green, one red—packed with ground veal, rice, prosciutto and eggplant. Saltimbocca consists of twin pork chops pounded thin and presented with a side of garlicky sautéed spinach; like most of the food here, it’s quite tasty.
