Your dollar goes far at this tiny Middle Eastern joint from the Egyptian immigrant family that brought you Taco Chula. Start with a plate of homemade pickles or the creamy baba ghanoush and move on to a heaping mixed grill of tender spice-inflected chicken, shish kebab and kofta. The restaurant’s namesake is a family recipe made the Egyptian way—with fava beans rather than chickpeas; one of the three available varieties is the flavor-laced Parisien, which is stuffed with French fries, fried eggplant, cucumber and sauerkraut. Seating is limited, but in warmer months the tiny dining room leads to a cozy outdoor eating area, where you can bring your own booze.
