If a booming Saturday night is any indication, the reopened Gabriela’s has won back its core audience. After an 11-month absence (the owners closed two former outposts and consolidated them here), Gabriela’s is once again serving heaping portions of Mexican food at reasonable prices—only now there are 120 seats, including an alfresco dining area. The tequila menu lists 75 bottles, and the dinner menu tackles 50 or so classics. Like many of the dishes we tried, the jalapeño rellenos—stuffed with Chihuahua cheese and shrimp—lacked kick, but packed in flavor.
