At this buzzing Italian institution, arriving early is a must if you want to avoid waiting around: Families crowd the cozy, casual and surprisingly inexpensive spot's tables nightly. Although the menu features plenty of flavorful fish and meat entrées, kids tend to order the simple, hearty pastas such as homemade gnocchi with tomato, cream and basil or spaghetti with cherry-tomato marinara sauce. The generous desserts (primarily Italian traditions like a delectable tiramisu and a lighter panna cotta) can easily be shared.

I came here for date night and it was a special night indeed. The food was delicious - Italian food is Italian food but the flavors were more dynamic than usual and there were a TON of great options. We each had classic pastas - both were done just right - a really special panzanella salad and slightly unusual but tasty potato and cheesy terrine. The wine was great too and the staff super friendly and attentive. Plus just the right old school Italian atmosphere and setting.
