Restaurateur Allen West, who managed P. Diddy’s Justin’s in New York and Atlanta, has created an elegant candlelit supper club, and the celebrities have caught on: Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and others have shown up to lounge on the plush burgundy banquettes and sample the soulful cuisine. Hearty starters like merlot-braised short ribs over creamy grits, spicy tuna wontons and crisp rock shrimp with an apricot curry sauce make way for equally flavorful main dishes like charred flank steak with caramelized onions and a mound of luscious mashed potatoes, wasabi-crusted tuna with Asian vegetables and delicately sautéed jumbo lump crab cakes. Live blues on Monday nights conveniently extends the weekend by a day.
