The rustic, homespun atmosphere at I Coppi makes you feel as if you’ve wandered into a trattoria in some quiet Italian village. And indeed, everything has been imported straight from Tuscany: the olive-oil-filled coppi (urns) resting on the bar, and the chef-and-owner duo, sisters Maristella and Lorella Innocenti. You’ll find an especially wide selection of house-made pastas; the ricotta and Swiss chard gnudi in a brown-butter and sage sauce is especially delicate. More substantial mains, like the stewed braised boar served with soft polenta, are hearty and flavorful. The real gem is the all-Tuscan wine list full of chiantis, brunellos and Super Tuscans. Try to grab a table in the lovely garden out back, where the exposed brick, low lights and lush plant life beckon romance.
