The second location of this popular Lower East Side gelato operation is a 3,300-square-foot corner space complete with an espresso bar. The modern, industrial tasting room offers 40 flavors at a time, plucked from a 200-strong repertoire that includes wasabi, vanilla-saffron, avocado and a range of chocolate flavors, plus dozens of fruit sorbets. Can't decide? See what's being made in the glass-walled production room, visible from the street.

Il laboratorio del gelato is very well known for it's handmade gelato. Located in the lower east side, it's the perfect dessert to follow the best pastrami sandwich from Katz's Deli. And if you're watching your figure, have no fear, these portions are small. And it'll cost ya to get more! Talk about incentive! The flavors rotate every so often and are very unique like chestnut honey and tarragon pink pepper. Ya gotta try it! But, the last time I went there they didn't like to give out many tasters. Plus the place is always so crowded I can understand why. But if you'd like a post sandwich little treat, head over for some gelato!
