Time Out says

Joseph Leonard owner Gabriel Stulman sows the seeds of a burgeoning West Village mini empire (his Fedora remake is slated to open later this fall) with this grocery store and casual eatery. The homey corner space has wooden floors, exposed brick, and distressed-wood shelves bearing provisions like Orwasher’s bread and Stumptown beans. Stock up on farm-raised meats, house charcuterie and domestic cheeses, or eat in at the 12-seat lunch counter in back. Daily grub offerings include a rotating selection of East and West Coast oysters, plus a menu of simple sandwiches and salads.

I came for brunch with my boyfriend and his parents and absolutely loved this place. It's also right by the dog store on Christopher!!! I had the bloody mary, which was okay - it came with a shot of beer on the side but I would've rather just had a better made bloody mary on it's own. Boyfriend's mom got a bloody cesar which I had no clue was a thing but what do I know. I got the shakusha and it was incredible - everyone was very happy with their meals. Would definitely come again!

Great first date spot. Located on a quaint street in the West Village, this is a trendy, chill, intimate spot, great for people watching or a romantic dinner. The seafood is very fresh and the drinks are incredible; very inventive but simple at the same time.
