Wired academics can get their caffeine fix at this modern 70-seat café at Columbia University. The sixth location of Jonathan Rubinstein's boutique coffee chainlet is housed on the second floor of the university's glass-encased Northwest Corner Building. Fuel up with espresso and drip coffee made with sustainably sourced Ecco Caffé beans. To eat, there are pastries from Ceci-Cela, Doughnut Plant and Pain D'Avignon, and light breakfast and lunch menus created by Rachel Graville (Iris Cafe), including a breakfast sandwich (country ham, cheddar, eggs and SchoolHouse Kitchen's Bardshar chutney) and a Cuban-style baguette (smoked turkey, country ham, spicy mayo, cheddar and pickles).
