Jolie (CLOSED)

The name means “pretty” in French, a fitting description for this little bistro’s charming ambience. A pretty half-moon of a bar sits up front; a wide garden with large orange umbrellas occupies the back third of the space; and twinkly gold lighting and lush greenery outfit the dining room in between. Unfortunately, the cuisine doesn’t match the splendor of the surroundings. A cool appetizer of smoked and fresh salmon rillettes, served with greens and toasted bread, was disappointingly flat. An entrée of grilled tilapia in a ginger-scallion-soy sauce with mashers was a tad zippier. Grab a glass of wine at the bar and take in the atmosphere—then consider moving on when it’s time to dine.
