Restaurants, New Zealand Park Slope
Top Chef alum Mark Simmons (Public) reps his native New Zealand at this Park Slope restaurant, decorated with his mother's teaspoon collection and a pine bar and tables made from wood sourced from the homeland. You'll also find the toque's mother country in the ingredients of his creative plates, like marmite-braised ribs and buttermilk fried chicken flavored with the New Zealand herb horopito.

Decent, albeit odd, food, attentive service, attractive dining room, all spoiled by the incredibly  immature, rude,  and boorish,  behavior of the chef, who ordered my wife to not return when she politely pointed out that the low placement of the "employees must wash hands" sign on the bottom of the restroom  mirror made it unusable for short people. It's sad that this restaurant is run by someone so childish and simply STRANGE!

We'll be VERY happy to NEVER return.

A great spot in Park Slope - I highly recommend the lamb burger.  Love the Sunday brunch, as well...
