A simple, stylish, and solid option just off Park Avenue South's revolving-door restaurant scene for a decade, La Pizza Fresca comes on strong with the wine theme (cork artwork and framed barrel wood), but the brick-oven kitchen turns out fresh, thin but chewy crust pizza. The congenial staff serves rustic peasant bread and fruity olive oil; pasta with Porcini mushrooms, black truffles and lobster; crispy pan-fried calamari; and a model tiramisu. Every bite is a pleasure.
