We were distraught when Northern Spy Food Co. closed, but it’s spirit, at least through alumni, chef Peter Lipson (also formerly of Empellón) lives on. At the new West Village restaurant, Lipson has teamed up with Ryan Burke and Kenneth McCoy of New York City cocktail hot spots Public House Collective, Ward III and The Rum House. The cocktail and dinner menu has a coastal focus, with influences from Italy and California. Menu stand-outs include grilled octopus with yucca, tender grilled jerk sunchoke kebabs and sword fish milanese.
