Le Baratin
Brothers Michael and Cyril Touchard (Tout Va Bien) launch a French eatery in the West Village, sharing a name with a lively Parisian bistro. In a red tufted banquette, feast on Gallic classics, including butter-sautéed frog legs, parsley-flecked escargot and steak frites with peppercorn sauce. At the eight-seat bar, bartenders pour champagne-based cocktails like the Le Tout Va Bien (bubbly with cucumber and watermelon purees), aperitifs (Muscat, Lillet Blanc) and beertails such as the Panaché, a classic French lager-and-lemonade quaff.

A welcome addition to the neighborhood. This place is owned by two really great guys and the food has only gotten better since they opened.

We went here not knowing what to expect, and left feeling like we found new friends. The staff is so warm and inviting, the food is very authentic French (not too fancy, stuck up or formal). We ordered the cheese plate, foie gras which were both amazing. The rosemary chicken was so juicy and the steak was so tender! This place is a gem!!! We can't wait to return.

What a truly fantastic spot! Not only was the food and ambiance fantastic, but the staff is warm and friendly. They really make you feel right at home with their top notch service. The food was amazing. We had escargot and the steak and both were the best I have ever had! I highly recommend this spot!

Absolutely without a doubt the best steak I have ever eaten. We ordered the steak for two. Another in our party had the duck that was like a filet mignon, and another the chicken. Not a disappointing dish in the bunch. Can't wait to go back for another dinner, and also looking forward to trying the brunch.
