Lexington Candy Shop
You won’t find much candy for sale at Lexington Candy Shop. Instead, you’ll find a wonderfully preserved retro diner, its long counter lined with chatty locals on their lunch hours, digging into gigantic chocolate malteds or peanut butter–and–bacon sandwiches. They even make lime rickeys. The shop was founded in 1925 and has appeared in numerous commercials, as well as the 1975 Robert Redford movie Three Days of the Condor.

This is the best classic diner on the upper east side! Easily one of the best in Manhattan. They've been around for something like 5 generations and still have a line out the door on Saturdays. Beware that it's cash only. I recommend having a classic milk shake or a hand made Coke.
