Lovely Day
Lovely Day
Cash-strapped twentysomethings (and their admirers) pack this inexpensive Nolita eatery to gossip and dine on Thai-inspired curries and noodle dishes. Everything is laid-back here—the decor features simple red booths and floral wallpaper, and the service is amiably slow. If you’re looking for a little heat, try the ginger-fried chicken topped with spicy aioli. For some sweetness, consider the crispy banana rolls served with vanilla ice cream, honey and sesame.

I absolutely love this place. Expect cheap prices and excellent thai food. The pineapple fried rice with shrimps is divine. Take the large plate for $1 more!

A charming little place serving up some massive Thai flavors. Contrary to online opinion I felt the service was really good and attentive. They were more than happy to accommodate an add on guest that joined us and were very helpful when it came to questions on the menu. With regards to settling your bill you need to plan ahead as this place only takes cash or Amex so dont be that person that eats then groans when you cant pay - you have been warned. With regards to the food, the appetizers are a nice way to share in a large groups and feed a table of 5 easily if you get 2 or 3 plates. My entree was the Tom Ga (coconut Milk) Soup and I added in some Japanese rice, yum yum yum and filling! A good night out, I would recommend this place.

Ginger fried chicken is so amazing from Lovely Day. Pad Thai with chicken is also really good. Even the green beans and broccoli. The green/house salad is amazeeeee! The setting is quaint and cute and feels very cozy / old school. The salmon is delicious and cooked exceptionally well. I really recommend every item on this menu. There is nothing that I've had and did not enjoy.  I've eaten at Lovely Day at least 35 times, many of them take out. And the food is still delicious, even as takeout and even after all of those times! Highly recommend for Thai food! They only accept cash or Amex so keep that in mind when you go or order!

This unassuming and cozy eatery packs a punch--just like its cocktails (get the Thai basil/vodka lemonade concoction)! It may seem sweet but it'll hit you hard if you're not careful. Fill up on comforting thai dishes like the amazing pad thai or the salmon over green curry. This budget-friendly spot's laid-back attitude and inviting red leather booths will keep you coming back. We hear brunch is also fab!
