Marumi

A steady stream of NYU faculty members and neighborhood devotees keeps Marumi packed, even though the rest of the street is pretty dead after dark. Sushi and sashimi selections are very fresh, if standard; you won’t find anything crazier than some jalapeño-spiked sushi. Extremely speedy service may get you your entrée before you’ve finished the appetizer, but there’s no rush to finish once everything’s on the table. This is an excellent place to grab a good, affordable meal before a night out in the Village.
