Find new American fare at this 80-seat Crown Heights spot, featuring an open patio for sun-soaked dining. Chef Lev Gewirtzman (Ouest, Stone Park Cafe) engineers a seasonal menu full of seafood (fried clam bellies, grilled octopus), mains (buttermilk fried quail) and vegetables (leeks vinaigrette, porcini custard and pickled honshimeji mushrooms). To drink: a global wine list and a rotating craft beers (Weyerbacher and Bar Harbor Brewing).

While the neighborhood around Franklin Avenue seems to be expanding every day, quality restaurants are still lacking in the area. Mayfield is the one, solid restaurant that I frequent again and again for delicious dinners (try the burger, fish & chips and the pork chop) and weekend brunch. With a great drink list and friendly servers, there's no doubt that this is the best restaurant option in the neighborhood.


Mayfield is a lovely spot. It brings a really nice atmosphere to the Franklin Ave restaurant scene and sticks out from the group for the sheer quality of the food. It really is quite delicious! The inside has a really great vibe and you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in. The staff is very friendly and the service is exceptional. They have a good selection of craft beers and wines which go well with the food. As a Crown Heights resident I plan to be a frequent visitor to Mayfield and will recommend it to all my friends.
