You don’t have to go to Egypt—or even the Met—to catch a glimpse of King Tut’s tomb and the pyramids. Former Cipriani bartender Andrei Lazarev has opened Moomia, a 200-seat lounge on the Eastern fringe of Soho that combines reproductions of ancient Egyptian archaeological finds with belly dancers and French-Moroccan cooking. Chef Elis Peña (formerly of Kitchen & Cocktails) is preparing a menu of small-plate dishes like roasted eggplant schalada with red and yellow peppers, tomatoes and preserved lemon.
