Paradis Des Gouts
Time Out says
A West African restaurant in Brooklyn.
Paradis Des Gouts Restaurant is the Brooklyn brainchild of Cheick Cisse and Marietou Boleane. Located in between famed Bedstuy and Bushwick, right under the Broadway J line. PDG is the first Ivorian restaurant in the borough.
Hailing from Anyama, Cote D’Ivoire, Cheick Cisse decided to take over his family’s restaurant in Harlem, NY in the early 2000’s. Ivoire Restaurant had been a secret staple in the African community by serving authentic traditional meals to its patrons while, doubling as a home base for transplants and new comers alike.
Cisse & Boleane put together a diverse team to support the day to day operations; Mohamed Coulibaly from Ivory Coast (Day Manager), and Fatima Dione from Senegal and Conakry, Guinea (Administrative & Night manager). Cooperatively, the team ensures all patrons have a positive, filling experience.
PDG’s mission is to connect people to west African culture globally by providing traditionally home cooked meals and positive experiences. The core beliefs shared by the owners and employees, is that food connects us all, and through food, we can learn to accept others as equals instead of focusing on the differences. Food is life, and life is Love!
