Phebe's Tavern & Grill
Aside from CBGB, one of the most enduring Bowery institutions has been this bar and restaurant on the corner of 4th Street. New owners gutted the place, exposed the old wood and brick, and tossed out the lounge, Fuel, to transform Phebe’s back into the classic tavern it once was. The kitchen still has some work to do on the burgers and fries, but other kinds of pub grub, like nachos, onion rings and chicken fingers, are all up to snuff and good for pairing with the dozen beers on tap.

I think I have found my favorite brunch destination while in the East Village. Phebe's Tavern offers an ample variety of food options at a ridiculous price which includes mimosas on weekends. I mean, do I really have to try to convince you that their dishes are exquisite yet decent in size and cost. Their staff is very pleasant and take good care of you while dining with them. Their portion sizes are satisfying and well balanced. I highly recommend this casual spot in lower Manhattan. I have been there twice and can't wait to take my girlfriend's out to brunch in the early fall. Their venue is spacious and has a vintage touch to it.

I dont usually eat where I drink, but let me tell you, Phebes is equally great for both. I have been to Phebe's for lunch, and it was delicious and reasonably priced! I have also been to Phebes on a weekend night, and it is a great atmosphere, with a mix of hanging out and dancing!
